Helpful Resources for Job Searching: Search Yourself

It seems like a whole lotta friends have been switching things up with work lately. In my own search I have noticed that much of the job "search" has been searching inside of myself. Rather than simply finding a job, I've wanted something that I am deeply interested in, where I can be a strong contributor and that I can learn and grow through.

The following things have helped me in the job search/soul search process.

1. Keep a folder of interests and passions
• If there is a company you know you love, print it out, save it in a document or pin it on a Pinterest Board about it. I've done all three of those. Seeing the common threads between the different pieces that I've printed out, posted and pasted has helped me know clearly what I would really love to work with.  "Knowing is half the battle" but definitely the right place to start. 
2. Know your personal strengths

• Personal reflection on the past, introspection in the present and projection toward a desired future
• Insights into who I am and who I have always been shared by my family members, close friends and personal mentors.

• Strong Interest Inventory Assessment
